Here is a brand new trip of Studifahrten which will be held for the first time! We have very limited seats for the trip because of the availability of our hostel. We will be visiting the dream village Hallstatt, the old town Salzburg and the mother of all the castles Neuschwanstein.

Hallstatt:

We will leave our homes on Friday evening and our first stop on Saturday morning will be Hallstatt, which is considered to be the oldest still-inhabited village in Europe and is one of the most important members on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In addition to its ancient history, Hallstatt is spectacularly picturesque, due to its location on a narrow rocky west bank of the Hallstättersee with the sheer rising mountains behind it. Considered by some to be one of the most beautiful places on earth, Hallstatt is sometimes called “the pearl of Austria”.

Salzburg:

After 2-3 hours in Hallstatt we are heading to Salzburg, checking in to our hostel in Salzburg with maximum 6 beds per room. Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart, is a city in central Austria, near the German (Bavarian) border with a population of some 150.000 in 2013.

Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Its “Old Town”, with its world famous baroque architecture, is one of the best-preserved city centers in the German-speaking world and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

Neuschwanstein Castle:

On Sunday morning after the breakfast, we are leaving Salzburg for Neuschwanstein. Neuschwanstein is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886.

Since then more than 61 million people have visited Neuschwanstein Castle. More than 1.3 million people visit annually. The palace has appeared prominently in several movies and was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle and later, similar structures.
